Congratulations Rick and Heather!

We are so happy for our friends who just got married on Saturday.  Nothing would stop them...not even 7 inches of rain AND a threatening ice storm! 

We traveled to Dallas, Texas to witness the big event.  We were planning on staying until Monday...but when they call in the National Guard because of "severe weather" and warned everyone to stay put and "hunker in", we decided it might just be best to "hunker in" in beautiful Southern California where it is only slightly below freezing!  Anyway...we were able to get out before they cancelled our flight...only slid once on an overpass...only saw one Cement Mixer do a 360 in front of us on ice!  But needless to say...it was a memorable day and we wouldn't have missed it for the world.  Here are some more pix!

Young Love

Meet Rick and Heather.  They are just like two peas in a pod (or should I say two Colonels in a pod?)  We were blessed to be invited to their engagement party.  They are getting married in January.  It is great to see the joy in Rick’s eyes.  Heather’s too.  You see, Rick lost his wife of many years to cancer.  Heather has never been married…and now they have found each other!  Now they are beaming with joy!  God is so good.  He can take tragedy and loss and turn it into joy.  “I know the plans I have for you…plans for a hope and a future”. 

God's Little Blessings

God has blessed my life with this group of people...which we lovingly call our "Small Group"  We meet every Tuesday and hang out together.  We eat, we talk about what's going on in our lives, we love each other, we pray for each other and we study God's Word and share our hearts with each other.   Our group has a mix of people and generations.   We a couple of college people, a 3 month old baby, 4 grandparents, one newlywed couple, one engaged couple, two single parents, one high schooler, two young adults, and one ten year old.  One of us is away at college (Georgia Tech), two are busy planning a wedding and are not in the pix. Last night five of us were MIA.  But that's OK, even when they aren't there we pray for and love them.  BUT...the little blessing I mentioned is that last night a new member came.  She didn't think she would know a soul there.  I think she must have been a little nervous about meeting all of us "new" people.  When we were introducing ourselves, I mentioned to her son that I also have a granddaughter his age and showed him a pix.  I told her that she looked familiar to me.  She asked if I used to be Kathie Harrington.  It turns out that she was a "Past Client" of ours and she began to tell me how much Bob meant to her and that he had actually invited her to Sandals in 1997.  She has been coming for 3 weeks now and loves it.  Small world.... what a blessing!
